The Answers You Need
WHAT IS KEY CLUB?
Key Club is a volunteer club that teaches and emphasizes on leadership and on serving others. It is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. Members are immersed in values such as inclusiveness and kindness while doing acts of service throughout their communities.
Key Club's Mission Statement is: Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides members with oppurtunites to provide service, build character and develop leadership.
Key Club is so huge that it's divided into districts, then regions, then divisions, then individual clubs. We are part of the California - Nevada - Hawaii District, and in that district we are Region 18, in Division 22 Hikina. Our division mascot is the sharks - the Manos, and our colors are red and black.
WHEN IS THE NEXT EVENT?
We have meetings every two weeks on Tuesday at 3:30 pm where we share information about upcoming events. You can also check the Event Sign Up page for upcoming events.
WHAT IS A DCM?
A District Club Meeting (DCM) is a huge meeting with all of the other key clubs from our division. We talk about upcoming projects, so it's a great way to learn about what our division is up to - but it is an even better way to meet new key clubbers! After the meeting we usually socialize and do group games.
HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?
Becoming a member is easy! Simply fill out the Membership Form, Medical Form, and Photo Release Form, then turn it in to Ms. Takayesu at A12 with the $15 membership fee.
HOW DO I BECOME AN OFFICER?
Every April is the start of a new Key Club term. Any passionate member can run for office by giving a 30-second speech to the club. However, we highly recommend shadowing an officer in the position you wish to run for to gain experience and expertise in the area. Contact us if you want to shadow an officer and click here to learn more about each position.
DO I NEED A CLUB SHIRT?
Club shirts are not required, but are good to have to be matching with the rest of the club at volunteer projects, DCMs, and other events. Shirts can be picked up at A12 for $15. Click here to see a picture of this year's shirt.
